The peregrine falcon is a medium-sized bird of prey belonging to the Falcos family. Its wings are short and pointed, with a length of approximately 130 cm. Females are larger than males.
Its plumage varies in shades of blue, grey, brown and white, while its beak, wingtips and head are black.
It is known for being the fastest bird in the world, being able to reach 389 km/h, which in fact, when hunting, they use to catch their prey.
The peregrine falcon is usually found in mountains (with open spaces), on coasts and river valleys, although it is increasingly common to see them in cities.
