Landscape and Mountain Activities Photography Competition in the Gaitanes Gorge Natural Area
El Landscape and Mountain Activities Photography Contest will take place in the majestic Gaitanes Gorge Natural Site in Malaga. This event is jointly organized by the 12h El Chorro Hill Climb Rally and the Álora City Hall.
Organisation
The competition is run by the El Chorro 12h Climbing Rally team, which will appoint a jury of three people to select the best photographs.
Participation
It is open to professional and amateur photographers from all over the world. Photographs must capture any aspect of the Paraje Natural del Desfiladero de los Gaitanes.
Competition Topics
Photographs must focus on the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Natural Site, including sustainable sports activities such as climbing, hiking, running and mountain biking. The originality and visual impact of the images will be evaluated.
Awards
- Top: 500€
- Second Place: 300€
- Third place: 200€
- Best Local Photographer (Álora): €150 in a voucher to spend in local shops.
Photo Exhibition
The winning photos and others selected by the jury will be exhibited during the awards ceremony.
Image rights
Participants retain their image rights. The winners will cede non-exclusive rights for the promotion of the event.
Digital Image Treatment
Moderate editing of photos is permitted, but digital manipulation that adds elements not present in the original shot is not.
Registration and Presentation of Papers
- Free registration: Open to anyone except members of the organization, immediate family members and sponsors.
- Rules of participation: Up to three photos in JPEG format, maximum size of 1920px on the longest side and maximum weight of 2 MB per file.
- Registration deadline: From June 15 to September 1, 2024.
Competition Deadlines
- Presentation of works: From June 15 to September 1, 2024.
- Award Ceremony: September 29, 2024 at 13:00 p.m. at the Llano de la Iglesia in El Chorro.
The judge
It will be made up of two renowned photographers and a member of the 12h El Chorro Climbing Rally.
Jury's Verdict
The jury's decision will be announced on 29 September 2024 during the awards ceremony. The presence of the winners or their representatives is essential to receive the award.
